NOVAS is a not for profit organisation and Approved Housing Body. We
work with single adults, couples and families who are homeless or at
risk of being homeless. We provide a range of support services and
accommodation. We have over * staff, and more
than * services in Limerick, Dublin, Clare,
Kerry, Cork and Tipperary including residential homeless services,
social housing and community based services for tenancy sustainment,
homelessness prevention, mental health and recovery.
NOVAS is a Trauma Informed practice organisation and the principles of
collaboration, diversity, respect and trust are embedded in our way of
working together. Our services are provided through support of our
partners in local government through the Local Authorities, HSE, and
other donors and funders
The role of Housing Officer is vital to the successful delivery of
quality programmes and services in NOVAS for our Tenants. The Housing
Officer will support NOVAS Social Housing Tenants as part of the
Housing Department within the authority delegated from the Senior
Tenant Services Manager.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE (PLEASE SEE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR
COMPLETE PERSON SPECIFICATION)
THE APPROPRIATE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* Minimum Level 6 ICSH, CIH Certificate in Housing Studies per the
National Framework of Qualifications relating to Housing, or allied
professions.
* At Least 1 years’ experience of managing Social Housing Tenants
in an AHB or local authority, or other relevant experience in dealing
with tenants & estate management.
* Understanding of landlord and tenant law & housing management
practice including obligations & tenancy legislation and relevant
statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Knowledge of social and voluntary housing sector or associated
experience.
* Full driver’s licence and use of own car
* Demonstrate ability to organise, prioritise and manage a complex
and varied workload and meet deadlines and targets.
* Ability to communicate and interact in a professional, diplomatic
and sensitive manner.
* Ability to utilise IT systems effectively
